France Demonstrates Ideals of Liberal Socialism

(Reuters) People walk past as a homeless person takes cover from the cold on a Paris sidewalk November 28, 2005, as six homeless have died in France since the arrival of winter temperatures. French authorities have raised their weather alert in 31 departments and asked for increased vigilance to the homeless in Paris. REUTERS/Franck Preve

Ah the socialistic ideal that is France. But I thought liberal politics would take care of the “disadvantaged?” Once again, those who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones:

“Katrina’s devastation points the finger at Bush’s system. ... Issues forgotten for years are back to the fore: poverty, the state’s absence, latent racism.”
