UN Saves the World... One Third World Nation At a Time
The UN is once again saving the world from crisis… currently in North Africa.
As Nigeria faces potentially catastrophic food shortages (well, that’s what Annan wants us to think), Kofi said "We are determined to work with the government, with our NGO (non-governmental organization) partners and all the U.N. agencies here to ensure that all of those in need do get the help,"
However, Nigeria’s President Tandja says the world body, aid groups, and opposition parties are exaggerating his country's problems for political and economic gain… Surely not the UN! (Oil for Food anyone?)
As a side note, in case anyone forgot this other monumental achievement of the UN: In Darfur, UN Secretary General Kofi Annan handed over a list of 51 war crimes suspects toThe Hague tribunal… now that’s how you stop the killing!
Yet our political left, and the “world body” want the US to continuously surrender more of its foreign policy decision making over the whims of this body?
