Doves Fly, North Korea Agrees (We Hope), China at Work?

North Korea has agreed to stop their nuke weapons program in exchange for energy and economic aid, and security assurances.

I'm hopeful, but skeptical about this. How much "aid" are we going to give them? We've been through this before. The only reason they have nuclear technology is because the Clinton Administration gave it to them when the "promised" not to make weapons with it. Now they are promising they wont make any "more" weapons, we just have to give them more money?

I also question why we had to publicly (which means we have to abide by it) state "The United States affirmed that it has no nuclear weapons on the Korean Peninsula and has no intention to attack or invade (North Korea) with nuclear or conventional weapons,"

I understand North Korea wants to know we are not going to attack them, but I smell the hand of China in this one.

My bet goes that this, in reality, was an event where North Korea was the puppet that China used to get us neutered militarily in the region.
