Katrina Victims Enticed to Forget Government Failure
Just to make sure all those poor folks in Louisiana and Mississippi don’t get disgruntled with the massive federal government, time for some more handouts.
To “help” the refugees, the Feds are going to “donate” over 100,000 items, worth over $2.3 million, in designer cloths seized and confiscated in import quota violations. The cloths include such labels as Fubu and Code Blue.
"They will be able to tell us specifically what they want and a personal shopper will go back and get it for them," said Mike Firenza of St. Luke's Methodist Church. "It will be one of the finest-dressed shelters that there's ever been." (Reuters)
Also, they are going to give out $2,000 debit cards to all adult victims of the hurricane.
Not everyone will qualify for the cards though. “"For instance you may have some people who have insurance and insurance is meeting their living expenses while they have been displaced. You have some people who may be looking at an option such as a cruise ship where all of their needs are going to be met. It is going to vary by family," said Conley.” (Breitbart)
Anyone else find it slightly disturbing they are specifically targeting minorities and the severely underprivileged with this dramatic and slightly too flamboyant entitlement? That’s right Uncle Sam, keep them nice and dependant on Government handouts, that way they wont worry about how much you failed them in their real time of need.
