Strange Days in Mogadishu
NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) - A warlord in southern Somalia has returned to the U.N. control of the UNICEF offices in the town where Somalia's transitional government is based after taking over the compound two days ago, a U.N. spokeswoman said Tuesday. (AP)
How nice of him. Of course Dheere (the warlord in question) didnt say why he did this (maybe they paid him off?)... but it sure was nice of him. I Wonder: if Clinton wouldnt have pulled out of there, would the UN still be respected? Would UNICEF still be able to actually help anyone besides the warlords?
"In an interview with a local radio station in Somalia late Monday, Dheere said that his militia took over the UNICEF office for security reasons and to guard equipment there after the U.N. moved its international staff out of Jowhar on Thursday. "
Either this guy was paid off, or the UN is using warlords to help with their security... what the hell is going on?
