(AP) JERUSALEM - Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Monday the fighting in Lebanon would end when the two Israeli soldiers captured by Hezbollah guerrillas were freed, rocket attacks on Israel were stopped, and the Lebanese army was deployed along the border.
While most people would agree that these are completely reasonable requirements to be met before
Israel ceases its current offensive, the world will balk at this and call
Israel the unwarranted aggressor.
If the
US is wrong for supporting
Israel until these conditions are met, then I’m glad we’re wrong.
I would support any nation under these circumstances.
None of us can imagine the feeling of constant threat of death under the impunity of a rogue organization that has no diplomatic goals, much less infrastructure with which to contend.
