Cyber war against Al-Qaeda

Finger points to British intelligence as al-Qaeda websites are wiped out

Over the past fortnight Israeli intelligence agents have noticed something distinctly odd happening on the internet. One by one, Al-Qaeda’s affiliated websites have vanished until only a handful remain, write Uzi Mahnaimi and Alex Pell

“The Israelis detect the hand of British intelligence, determined to torpedo the websites after the London attacks of July 7.” (Times Online)

Well, it seems our friends across the pond have also taken an aggressive stance, and are looking at effective alternative tactics to combat radical Islamists.

Bush took the lead in this war, but as of late seems to have gotten a little lost. While his policy seems to going rudderless, the British have adapted their tactics. I wait to hear more on this one.
