Unions are not so Unionized

CHICAGO (CNN) - The Teamsters and the Service Employees International Union voted Monday to withdraw from the AFL-CIO. (CNN)
The last throes of Union seem to be approaching. This could be a serious blow to the Democratic Party’s fund raising efforts. While there will still be a major organized labor movement in America for the foreseeable future, this division represents many of the things that are wrong with Unions today.
As outsourcing becomes a problem, Unions continue to seal their own fate by demanding ridiculously high wages for menial jobs. In a younger workforce that relishes the idea of the competitive workforce. The mediocrity encouraged by Union style job security is slowly making them obsolete. The dying industries in this country are heavily unionized. The connection cannot be mere coincidence.
