Good For the Goose, NOT Good for the Gander (Especially if the Goose is Ginsberg)

WASHINGTON (AP) - Frustrated by two days of sparring with John Roberts, Democrats are down to their final chances to coax answers from the chief justice nominee on abortion, privacy and other hot-button issues before he heads to likely Senate confirmation

Not that I think they know, but what exactly are Democrats on the committee wanting? Ruth Bater Ginsberg set this precedent when she said “I cannot say one word on that subject that would not violate what I said had to be my rule about no hints, no forecasts, no previews.” (Also known as the Ginsberg Rule). Her confirmation got something like all but 3 votes from Republican, and she was a very liberal activist lawyer for the ACLU.

Now we are supposed to think that Roberts cannot be trusted because he won’t answer these same questions?
